What ever happened to the great English summer last year. I feel cheated.
It was pretty much a wash out. I don't think I'm the only one to be disappointed, but ever the optimist, a little voice inside me says "this year is going to be just glorious"
Well let's face it, it can't be any worse than last year. Can it?
Anyway, I gave up on the garden last year in September, and just left it. I felt it was a losing battle.
But this year, it will be different... Oh yes it will!
I am going to have a go at some veggies. This idea has been brought about by the state of the economy, and the distant memory of once planting some spuds that had been left to grow long green fingers in the kitchen. It was really exiting when those wrinkly old spuds turned into lots of nice new potatoes, just like you buy at the shops, but somehow they tasted so much better, and they didn't cost any money really. Just a bit of digging, and playing with dirt.
So let's hear it for the great English summer. An incomparable delight.
Out with the barbeque's, and the Fleetwood Mac CD's.
A few good friends, and some solar lights and all those groovy kinds of things.
Oh my, I think I've got long hot summer syndrome :)
Anybody else dreaming like me?
